Developmental appropriate practices is also known as DAP which means a teaching job in early childhood education. In that early childhood education teacher nurtures a child’s development socialy, emotionaly, physicaly and cognitively. The NAEYC (National Association for the education of young children) said that developmentally appropriate practice is informed by what we know from theory and literature about how children develop and learn. This promotes each child optimal development and learning through fun based approach like strength based, playing, joyful approach and engaged learning.

Teachers implement developmentally appropriate practices by identifying the knowledge of all young childrens who are come for early learning program and find who are unique individuals and as a members of families and communities. Teachers main aim Is to building on each child’s strengths and also taking care to not harm any of children’s social, physical, cognitive or emotional well being. In development appropriate practices , the educators focus is to help all the children achieve their full potential across all domains of development and also across all content areas. It supports each individual as a valued member of learning community.

There are three core consideration of developmentally appropriate practice such as knowledge  of childhood development, knowing what is individually appropriate for each child through assessment and knowing what is culturally important.
